A free platform connecting ambitious 14-18 year olds with mentors from professional fields like law, medicine, finance and dentistry, plus free GCSE and A-level tutoring. Priority is given to students from lower-income backgrounds.
No. Mentoring and tutoring are both completely free, always, for every student. Mentorea is entirely funded by donations.
Priority is given to students aged 14-18 from lower-income backgrounds who have a genuine desire to grow and can realistically commit to the programme. You don't need perfect grades to apply, just genuine motivation.
We match you based on your career aspirations, GCSE and A-level subjects and predicted grades, personality, personal interests, and a short personality quiz. Matching usually takes around two weeks.
Six weeks, with 30-minute Zoom sessions either weekly or biweekly depending on your mentor's availability. You'll receive a Mentorea certificate once you complete it.
Let your mentor or tutor know as early as possible so the session can be rearranged. Because spaces are limited and every mentor volunteers their time, we ask students to only apply if they can realistically commit to regular sessions.
GCSE: Mathematics, English and Science. A-level: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Economics. We'll soon be running tutoring for IB students and SAT prep too.
Weekly sessions with a student who has already achieved your target grade in that exact subject, plus free access to Mentorea's Discord community of over 1,000 students.

Sessions run over Zoom, and mentors are asked detailed questions about their background and motivations as part of applying. If you ever have a concern about a session, contact us directly and we'll look into it.

Mentorea was founded by Miles Alexander, who was brought up in a single-parent household in Hackney and started the organisation to give other students the kind of guidance he wished he'd had growing up.
